Description & Prerequisites

This module will broaden students' foundational knowledge from the module, Foundations of early childhood education. It will explore varied constructions of early childhood from different dimensions. The theoretical constructions of belonging, being and becoming will be unpacked and factors influencing these framings will be examined from African perspectives. Students will also be gain an understanding of different theoretical perspectives on early learning and care. The implications of the theoretical perspectives for creating responsive learning environments and practice will be engaged with.
