Description & Prerequisites

The purpose of this module is to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and skills related to correctional security practices and principles within in a South African context. This module will provide students with an in depth understanding of the formal security mandates, personal security, physical security, technology security, information security management, operational security, and management supervision By completing this module, students will be able to effectively analyse, implement, and maintain various security measures within correctional facilities, while upholding the values of Ubuntu, social responsibility, and graduateness, and relevant principles of sustainable development goals.
